STYLE GURU BIO: Avery Nunez

Hi Fashionistas! I’m Avery Nunez, a freshman at Purdue University studying public relations and specialized communications and I’m so excited to be a part of the Style Guru team! I’m a donut and running enthusiast as well as a member of Twin Pines Cooperative. I’m a sucker for rom-coms, books and shoes. You’ll rarely find me leaving the house without some sort of wedges on, a watch or purse. Along with all of that, I’m extremely passionate about writing and I think it’s an awesome way to express yourself in a different way. I think writing can be stressful, relaxing, challenging and fun all in one. It has taught me a lot about myself as well as plenty of life skills.

Writing became a large part of my life freshman year of high school. I joined the school yearbook staff and learned that I loved to write about anything and everything by being a staff reporter for two years. After that I became a Copy Editor as well as associate Editor-in-Chief my senior year. I’m now grateful to say I write for the Purdue Exponent and this upcoming semester will be Assistant Features Editor.

For a while now I’ve realized that first impressions are a really big thing and that a very important part of first impressions is what you’re wearing. Although looks aren’t everything, those wedges, corduroy skirt, velvet top or button-up collared shirt underneath your sweater did in fact get noticed. That’s why I’m so excited to be a part of this team, to help you realize your outfits are being noticed or how to get them noticed.
