STYLE GURU BIO: Amanda Remillard

To say I am excited to start this internship is an understatement. Ever since I was little I can remember playing dress up with scarves and my mom’s high heels (so classic, I know), but it’s true. I’ve always had a love for expression through visual mediums, like clothing and photography. These loves inspired me to add on a photography minor to my fashion merchandising major. I am super excited to start my photography classes this coming spring 2015 semester! It is my biggest dream to create a career that perfectly marries the two together, so that I can fully use my talents every day.

This is officially my first fashion internship ever and I can’t wait to put my love of fashion and creativity to work here at CollegeFashionista. This Spring 15′ semester is going to be one of the best of my life; I can feel it. Not only do I have this amazing internship, but starting in the fall, I will be taking a course through my school that allows me and a select number of students to travel to New York City for the day every Friday to work with industry professionals. All semester long we work on a project to design a concept for Isaac Mizrahi himself. I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed for this opportunity because not many can say they have designed and presented a concept to such an accomplished designer such as Mizrahi.

Along with this amazing course, I just cant wait to get back into Philadelphia. There is so much to look forward to in the city: walks through Rittenhouse Square, countless restaurants and cafés to try and spring starts the free concert series in the park as well. There is so much to do, and of course I am definitely looking forward to the nice warm weather that spring brings.
