STYLE GURU BIO: Alexandra Troye

Hello Fashionistas! My name is Alexandra E. Troye. The E stands for Elizabeth, but most people call me Alex. I just finished my first semester as a junior at the University of Wisconsin- Stout. After changing my majors 10 times, I decided to transfer colleges, and boy, I made the best decision! I found my desired major in Retail Merchandising and Management with a concentration in fashion marketing, along with two minors in business and computer networking! Still much undecided about what I want to pursue as a career, but I would enjoy working with fashion! I’m also a makeup and hair fanatic. I have been since I could fit five hair ties on my head at once and smear on glowing-white eye shadow as a teen. I have future plans to attend beauty school after I earn my Bachelor’s Degree, but don’t worry, I have improved my looks by now! I mainly find my inspiration from social media and magazines, and occasionally from a Pretty Little Liars episode. I’m all about designer fashion, yet also all about cheap buys! You can always find me with designer looks and handbags, but you would never guess how little I paid for them. My favorite items to shop for are tops. I’m all about layering, so my closet is over-flowed with blouses, tank tops and cardigans. My go-to item for a night out or a quick look for work are ponchos; I’m totally obsessed. I also love my jean button-down shirt since it’s perfect for layering with any blouse. A few of my other essentials include distressed skinny jeans and blanket scarves. As the snow starts to fall, I like to try new looks by mixing new and different accessories together. Anything with glitter or sparkle will catch my attention in the blink of an eye. I’m a total girly-girl and love to show it off in my wardrobe. My closet is color-coordinated; however, the majority of it is pink and black. My style is always changing as I try to keep up with the latest trends. Most of my looks are inspired by celebrity Instagram posts and YouTube videos. Megan and Liz Mace are two of my favorites! I’m so excited to be a Style Guru this semester and can’t wait to be inspired by new styles to try and share with all of you!
