STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Suede and Solids

As the cold weather starts to lessen, the birds are start to chirp, flowers begin to bloom and Fashionistas are saying bye-bye to anything that won’t let them expose even the slightest bit of skin. When temperatures are predicted to hit the mid-60’s, there is no reason to not bring out your fave spring trends.

As busy college students, we need everyday outfits that can accommodate to sudden weather changes. Just think about it: just because the weather was nice this morning doesn’t mean it will be tonight. Unfortunately, this is a sad truth that comes when the weather starts to shift from winter to spring.

This Fashionista’s in-between-seasons outfit features a burgundy faux suede scallop hem skirt, a black long sleeve, brown ankle boots and a beaded necklace; it’s the perfect spring weather combo. This ensemble combines all the great fall trends we love with the must-have transitional pieces for spring.

Although the outfit was more on the casual side, it does still make a statement. The burgundy suede skirt made the color from her beaded necklace pop combining all her separates into the perfect transitional outfit.

If you know that the weather wont be cooperating with your outfit all day, make this outfit cold weather appropriate by adding a pair of opaque tights and a cardigan, sweater, jacket or blazer. Complete the look with a nice pair of sunnies to add just a tad bit more to that “spring has sprung” vibe. This is an effortless look that can work for almost any occasion.
