STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Seasons of Style

In many college girls’ closets, the most prized item is the piece of clothing that you can seamlessly transition from the warmer months into the fall and winter. Whether it’s the perfect pair of booties or a chambray button-down, I’m always looking for new ways to transition my summer items into fall. Not only does it give me more outfit options, but it also saves me money that would be spent on a whole new fall wardrobe.

While I’m a firm believer that almost anything in your closet can be worn from season to season, I do have several staple transition pieces. Lightweight utility jackets in neutral colors look just as good paired with sundresses as they do with jeans and booties. I also continue to wear all my jeans (no matter what wash) year-round with T-shirts and sandals in the summer and sweaters in the fall.

This Fashionista rocks a tunic dress that is perfect for any season. The shorter length and lightweight fabric make it great for summer nights, especially when paired with strappy sandals. This Fashionista shows how the burgundy floral print makes it ideal for the fall when paired with booties. For even colder temperatures, the tunic could be worn with leather leggings and heeled booties.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love to wear cute, flowy dresses whenever possible. Pairing this maroon dress with some gold accessories gives it more of a dressy look that could be worn from day to night. The brown booties and leather satchel are two of my wardrobe staples and I wear them throughout the year!”
