STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Prints of Paradise

Here in central Illinois, summer has been off to a rocky start. The first week of June consisted of flash floods, thunderstorms, hail and temperatures in the mid-50s. It’s just another summer in the beautiful state of Illinois. With days like this, we look at one of the hottest trends of the summer as a beacon of hope for the days to come. Tropical paradise prints have become the greatest influence in many Fashionistas’ wardrobes this season. Whether you are seeking adventure or setting up by the pool this summer, tropical prints will allow you to embrace paradise no matter your location.

This past spring, designers such as Clover Canyon, Stella Jean and Fyodor Golan captured the surf-infused trend in their summer lines. This Fashionista embraces her inner islander with the Hawaiian-inspired trend. Her black and white, palm tree print romper is the perfect example of how a classic style can be infused into any trend this summer. The romper also has a breezy open back, which is excellent for the scorching days to come. This Fashionista is dressed to beat the heat in her floppy straw hat from Dainty Hooligan. By opting for neutral flat sandals instead of wedges, she creates a more casual look. Staying with the casual style, she pulls her look together with delicate silver accessories from the Alex and Ani collection. This summer, tropical prints have easily become one of my favorite trends and I think this Fashionista rocked it!

Looking to rock the islander vibe? Keep it casual and simple with neutral sandals and tote bags. Looking to dress it up? Adding white wedges will make any look chic.
