Winter break (hibernation) has come to an end and classes are officially back in session. While I’m used to walking from one building to another in a sea of black parkas, I came across this Fashionista who was sporting a much different look. Her effortless layers and pastel pink coat are proof that this Fashionista is a step ahead of the trends and a risk-taker. You traditionally see bright and cheery colors in the spring, but incorporating a pop of color into your winter wardrobe is a great way of changing things up. Pastels specifically are known to be relaxing and soothing which doesn’t hurt now that classes are back in swing.

You don’t have to limit yourself to just a bright colored jacket though. You can choose another statement item like bright colored pants, purses or even shoes. This Fashionista kept the rest of her look very neutral in color after picking a brighter coat. The lace in her headband and layered sweater also add a feminine touch to the overall look. You can take a different route by wearing a royal blue coat instead of the pink and then wear all black underneath for an edgier look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Try adding some color into your wardrobe this winter. Dark colors tend to be a bit depressing especially during these torturous winter months. I associate bright colors with happiness, as most people do. By mixing it up with a pastel pink jacket, it not only keeps me warm but brings spring cheer into these cold winter days.”
