STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pastel Knits

Living in Montana means dealing with multiple doses of winter. Just when it begins to look like spring, the snow starts to fall again, making the weather a little dreary from December to May. When all you see on your Instagram feed are fashion bloggers in Los Angeles breaking out floral print, you can’t help urning for spring fashion. This week’s Fashionista has found the happy medium with a cozy pink pastel cardigan. Knitted pastel pieces are the perfect way to transition your outfits into spring, as they will keep you extremely warm and give your look a delicate springtime vibe.

This Fashionista wears her pastel pink cardigan over a white ruffled top, which keeps her look very light and feminine. The delicate fabric of the top balances well with the knitted cardigan, keeping the outfit from looking bulky. No matter the season, you can never go wrong with skinny jeans. This Fashionista’s blue skinny jeans add a pop of color to her look and make the outfit a little more casual, perfect for heading to class. Sneakers are also a great choice for going to class. She wears a pair of white Converse sneakers which give her outfit a very cool street style vibe. And lastly, she finishes her look off with some bold statement jewelry, which personalize her outfit while adding interest at the same time.

Although spring is still pretty far away, pastel knits are a great way to incorporate the spring feels into your look. Next time you are saddened by yet another snowfall, get creative with your wardrobe! Mixing winter pieces with spring ones is an effective way to stay warm throughout the cooler months without missing out on fun spring patterns and colors.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I always gravitate towards really big, cozy oversized sweaters, specifically in the winter. While comfort is key, especially for a college girl on the go, these oversized sweaters can sometimes give the illusion of a larger torso. I’ve found that a great pair of skinny jeans are the best way to create a flattering silhouette with sweaters like this one. I can still look chic but be comfortable at the same time.”
