STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Orange is NOT the New Black

Throughout the years, I have found it rather difficult to try and incorporate black clothing in my wardrobe during the summer. I kind of feel in awe when I see someone rocking it. My first thought usually is “how can you feel comfortable in that?” Yet, there is a hint of jealousy in my tone. I mean the color black is a blank canvas. It also makes me feel like I’ll be the next witch in the coven—not that that’s a bad thing! What really makes these outfits work is not overindulging and wearing light fabrics. This Fashionista ultimately pulled out all the stops and shows us how to wear you favorite color every time of the year.

If you have had dreams of being in The Craft, then you can at least dress for the role, right? What really drew me to this outfit was the black fedora this Fashionista was wearing. It balanced the whole look and gave the look edge. As well, the gold accented accessories were absolutely to die for! Even Myrtle Snow would want to rock the Ray-Bans this Fashionista was wearing! Continuing on with the accented accessories, the triangle earrings also gave a very unexpected flair. All of the accessories had slain me and brought me back to life all at once.

Continuing on with the ensemble, the Fashionista wore a black graphic print crop top. The long sleeves gave it more of a tomboyish look, adding on to the edgy presence of the outfit. As well, the Fashionista wore a black pencil skirt to insinuate her curves and model-esque body! We need to call America’s Next Top Model: College Edition ASAP! What makes this Fashionista’s look really stand has to be the flats that are rather a very light peach color. It highlights the entire outfit, and even makes these amazing strapped flats look gorgeous! To finish it all off, the Fashionista opted for a black leather bag. Leather bags are always essential, and she shows just why with her amazing dark and vampy outfit.

What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be scared of trying out black pieces during the summer! The best suggestion is to start off with a black blouse and white jeans or shorts. Once you have gotten a taste of how to wear this color, experiment from there! Life is too short to not wear such an awesome color during the summer!”
