STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Not Your Grandma’s Knee-Highs

Every once in a while, (in-between gray and rainy days) an absolutely gorgeous day will appear out of nowhere, right when you need it. How did the the Fashionistas/os of UNC-Wilmington celebrate? They looked lovely, of course! I found this Fashionista in-between classes showing off florals, and making spring seem not so far away after all.

Even though it might be a little too cold to start rocking open-toed shoes, these oxfords are perfect for running around campus. I love how well her shoes and belt go together, making this Fashionista the envy of everyone struggling to match difficult brown leathers. These textures add the smallest pieces of roughness to her otherwise soft outfit. Similar in the case of her knee-high socks and cardigan, the impeccable matching goes a long way, making the outfit put together and stylish.

The knee-highs are absolutely perfect in this beautiful weather. Whether you are channeling schoolgirl-chic or the runway, they add warmth in these frigid months and look darling on Fashionistas. Got a dress that you can’t wait for spring to wear? Knee-highs act like stockings or tights, but with a pop of color, you’ll look anything but boring. The cardigan also keeps the outfit winter-friendly, and the cool shades offer an edgier touch.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “High socks don’t have to look like you’re playing in soccer game! With different colors and textures, they look so cute and feminine. Plus, they keep you warm!”
