STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Lovely In Layers

Hi my fellow Fashionistas/os! So lovely to have you back, but do you know what else is lovely? Layers. And no, not those delicious chocolate layers you can find in cake, I’m talking cozy tank tops under and over chunky turtlenecks and oversized sweaters like a cherry right on top of it all.

As the brisk winter is dramatically taking it’s time to approach us, it is getting a little more difficult to get used to a temperature that is below 50 degrees. When I came across this Fashionista I thought, “Genius! What a way to keep warm and still be chic at the same time.” Sometimes, myself included, covering your cute winter outfit with a coat is heartbreaking, not to mention sometimes just down right uncomfortable. What this Fashionista did was just wonderful. Although, if your mom is anything like mine, she might tell you to, “Always wear a coat and cover your neck or you’ll get sick.” So just make sure you have one at hand!

This Fashionista is wearing a few layers that you would never imagine. Her grey turtleneck, for starters, is under it all. A unique V-neck cutout gives a little more edge to the ensemble paired with a long chiffon button-up tank top on the top layer. The V-neck illusion compliments the turtleneck layer underneath, so it doesn’t look mismatched. She warmed up the look with this wool oversized gray sweater, and a comfortable pair of black leggings with leather accents. These leggings are a thick cotton and polyester blend to keep her toasty. And can we talk about these fierce black ankle booties with a zipper on both sides? They are so perfect for a casual day around town. You Fashionista/os know my shoes and me. I am now on the hunt for a pair similar to these thanks to this Fashionista

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I always try to wear layers during the winter, it makes for a cozy outfit and a chance for me to switch up my look throughout the day. Also, if I ever get too warm in a building on campus I can always take a sweater or jacket off!”
