STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Lots Of Layers

Everyone knows that it is a good day when you are wearing your favorite shirt, but what if you could wear your top three favorites all at once? Imagine the lucky day you would have with layering as a skill in your fashion arsenal. So do not be afraid—use this Fashionista as inspiration to put layering into your daily college wardrobe.

Most of us think of layering only as a vehicle to avoid hypothermia in the harshest of snowstorms. However, I am here to tell you that layering is for every season. The first tip is to vary the length and texture of your stackable shirts. A tunic tank top on top of a strappy crop top is fashion-forward and keeps your peers guessing. The second tip is not to go overboard with the colors. By keeping it minimalistic, you can stay trendy without looking like you put on every piece of clothing in your closet.

This Fashionista keeps it simple and starts with a racer back crop top as her base. She then adds a high slit T-shirt dress on top to give her outfit some much-needed flair. She then tops it off with a lightweight knit shirt for the mild winter weather. Even though her shirts are all of the groutfit variety, this Fashionista makes her complementary necklines the main focus to give a fresh take on an old classic, layering. To finish off the look she adds some timeless white high-top sneakers.
