STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Leather Weather

February 29th, 2016 at 2:00am

We’re in the midst of some strange transition weather in South Carolina right now. Sometimes it’s 70 degrees, sometimes it’s 40 degrees, and it’s often raining and always unpredictable. Impending storms typically make me want to crawl into bed and binge watch Netflix, but as a student, class always trumps relaxation. Thankfully we can all now agree that leggings are cool and fun and completely acceptable to wear almost anywhere. Plus, with the athleisure trend in full swing, designers are now making fun leggings easy to dress up and pair with more “going out” outfits.

This Fashionista executes this trend perfectly in my opinion. The leather patches on her leggings pair perfectly with her cropped vegan leather jacket. Long layering necklaces are dainty and add a feminine touch that still keeps her look simple. The olive green layered top also adds a slight touch of color and helps tie the whole look together. This outfit works perfectly for an afternoon class, a dinner date or even a fun night out. Especially during the winter months, sticking to neutral colors makes life so simple. If you know me, you know I’m 90 percent of the time wearing 90 percent black. Whatever your neutral of choice is, once you find it and invest in it, expect your outfit-making stress to disappear.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Comfort is always a top priority and leather pretty much always looks good no matter what. Keeping my outfits simple and neutral makes getting dressed in the morning super simple.”
