STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep Calm And Sparkle On

Can you ever really have too much sparkle? The answer is no. Sometimes a girl just has to shine. Between nights out on the town and special occasions. everybody needs some glitz, glamour and glitter hanging in the closet. It’s 2015, and the sparkle game is still going strong. Sequins will never go out of style, so don’t feel guilty for holding on to your favorite high school homecoming dress.

You could probably spot this Fashionista from a mile away! This blazer would be the perfect gift for that friend you always seem to lose on Friday night (I know you have one!). Plus, you can always borrow it! Sharing is caring. This black and gold sequin blazer is really unique and makes a bold statement. It’s feminine, fun and sure to turn heads. Pieces such as this one are rare and a great way to spice up a relatively plain look. When you come across novelty pieces such as this one, don’t hesitate to grab them! The detail and design of the sequins on the blazer really add depth to the look. The black bodycon dress, sheer tights and black booties create a nice solid base that contrasts well with the sequin jacket and earrings.

Boutiques, thrift stores and clearance racks are all good places to find really great statement pieces such as this blazer. If you’re on the hunt for some bling, make sure you check out post holiday sales. The holidays always leave behind a trail of glitter. This Fashionista shared with me that her blazer actually was a hand me down from her mom. It’s cute, sentimental and, most importantly, free! Another trend that correlates well with a sparkly piece is faux leather. Try pairing some leather leggings or a skirt with your statement piece. One of my favorite combinations this year has been leather bottoms with a vibrant or detailed top.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Just have fun! I like to mix and match a lot of different pieces, and I’m always on the hunt for clothes and shoes that really stand out.”
