STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Jumping Into Fall

October 17th, 2016 at 2:00am

We’ve officially knocked out the first few weeks of being back to school and are now diving head first into my favorite season: fall. The temperature is slowly cooling down and the leaves are beginning to crinkle and fall. The key for the first couple of weeks in the beginning of the season is to layer. The mornings are drastically cooler walking to those early classes, but as soon as the sun rises and a burst of warmth hits your body, you’ll want to be able to shed a layer instead of sweating it off the rest of the day.

A complementary look for both men and women would have to be the shirt and cardigan combo. The top and cardigan featured on our handsome Fashionisto above is from Zara, but similar combos can be purchased at almost any retail store. There are many ways you can wear this shirt/cardigan combo—dress it up with a nice pair of slacks or bum it down with your favorite pair of jogger pants—the possibilities are endless! Our model is wearing a pair of black jeans from TopMan to create a more casual look.

This outfit was also dressed up by adding some accessories that popped out, but also helped mesh the entire look into one. The watch featured above is from Tag Heuer; it’s imperative to wear a watch when you have an extremely busy schedule in order to keep your day in tact, so it’s always nice to have a watch that matches your style and/or personality. Our model also chose to complete the look with his stylish pair of glasses, but you can always take the statement accessory route and add a necklace, earring(s), etc.

Finally, this look is tied together by these suede booties that are from The Rail, but are also available at high end department stores like Nordstrom’s and Bloomingdales. Depending on the temperature, this look can be tied together with a pair of sandals, flip flops, booties or boat shoes.

My favorite part about this look is that there are so many ways to change the feel of the look. You can dress it up, dress it down, whatever fits best for your style, all while staying cool and comfortable as we jump into fall!
