STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: I’d Like To Make a Statement

All fashion lovers know the vast importance of statement pieces. Usually bright, patterned, textured, large, over the top pieces that never fail to grab practically everyone’s attention, these clothes are the ones that we’re instantly attracted to in the shops and the ones that have the ability to make all outfits stand out because of their own special look and vibe.

Now, let me be honest with you and say that in the past, I personally wasn’t one of the biggest fans of statement pieces. The idea of wearing something that would stand out and break the usual monotone of my outfits seemed anything but appealing to me, so what I did was usually just end up sticking to my all-black ensembles that stood out in different ways than those of statement pieces. As weird as this is going to sound, nowadays I’m all about the statement pieces. I’ve become one of the girls who would rather just wear basics with beautiful staple pieces that stand out and make my outfits much more personal and unique. Who knew, right?

This Fashionista definitely understands the whole concept of the statement piece. Her outfit is absolutely stunning and on point (way on point). Saying that I’m beyond obsessed with her beautiful colorful, floral statement skirt would be an understatement, as it is a massive head-turner (pretty sure we can all agree on this one). She kept the rest of her outfit rather simple, as she chose to wear a basic white crop top and black wedges to make the look much more chic and girly, and not retract any attention from the skirt. As for her accessories, her stack of colorful bracelets, gorgeous Marc Jacobs gold watch and her classic, black Balenciaga purse complete the look and add the finishing touches.

In all honesty, I’m obsessed with this look. It’s simple, yet elegant and fun and this is probably the main reason why I fell in love with it in the first place. Way to go, girl.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Invest in statement pieces; they’re a must in everyone’s closet! Don’t be afraid to experiment with them; I’m sure the result will definitely be one that you’ll end up loving.”
