STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Icy Pink

In a sea of black, white and neutrals, a pop of pale pink is a welcome sight in frigid New York. Pink is fresh, flirty and powerful, but sometimes it’s hard to march in the rose parade without veering into Barbie/Elle Woods/bridesmaid territory. However, this Fashionista kept things simple, and ended up looking more like a fierce city girl than a bend and snap princess.

She is wearing a white sweater under a leather vest with a warm monochrome scarf draped around her neck. Her pastel pink wool coat is snug and comfortable, while being the center of attention. So as to not make the outfit “toothache sweet,” she finishes the look with medium wash jeans and sturdy tall brown boots. It results in an ensemble that is elegant, yet practical.

A pair of pink trousers like these would be the perfect way to incorporate the pastel pink into a wardrobe again. It would be unexpected and make a statement in the best way, when paired with a white shirt or flirty top. This glossy, buttery pink leather jacket is another great way to increase the shock value and up the cool girl factor, especially when worn with bold boots. With on-trend scalloped edges and a well placed mesh panel, this dress is the perfect definition of pink; it’s sweet, coquettish and feminine.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Mixing pastels! Colors like mint green, ice blue and pink go together like peanut butter and jelly because they look extremely soft and romantic when worn together.”
