STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: How to Make that Color Pop!

I don’t know about you, but I always have a hard time picking out an outfit to go with that one colorful bag that we all have. You know which one—it’s the one that stands out from your staple tan or black bag. It’s probably a mint color, pink, white or blue and you’ve probably only used it once or twice.

Now, I’m a big believer of matching shoes with your purse, so whenever I accessorize with my white crossbody, I tend to wear my white patent Tory Burch Miller sandals. I am trying my best to figure out how to coordinate rather than match, so I’m going to dive right in to the mind of this Fashionista and see how she does it!

I remember this color-pop trend starting when I was entering into college. Everyone was doing it. Victoria’s Secret even came out with a line of color-block swimsuits. Instead of wearing prints, it was all about wearing bold colors together. So, how do you style this trend into your everyday wear?

This Fashionista flawlessly pulled off a nude dress with a pop of blue from her crossbody bag and grey-framed sunglasses. In order to complete her neutral look, she wore nude wedges that accentuated her dress—and her tan! When you live in Florida, if you don’t have a summer tan, you’ll stand out like a beacon in the night. Let’s just say I’m one of those people that stands out. I’m more pale than Bella from Twilight. Maybe this nude look wouldn’t work for me, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to try it! Also, if you want things to match like I do, you could change the grey-framed sunglasses with blue ones!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When I’m trying to pull off a colorful accessory, I try to wear a plain nude or white dress in order to maintain the focus on the bold color without overdoing it. You never want to mix bold with bold. There’s beauty in simplicity.”
