STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fall in Love with Fall

Leaves are falling, autumn’s breezes are calling, the smell of pumpkin spice is filling our noses and we’re all smiling.

Fall and all its beauty is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited. Summer is over and that means hot chocolate, sweaters and hoodies. Sitting down with hot apple cider and reading a novel. Staying cozy under the covers and binge-watching Netflix or baking cookies and carving pumpkins and looking for the perfect costume for Halloween. So much to do in so little time. Whichever you prefer doing, why not do it comfy, casual and stylish?

Since fall isn’t completely in full swing, my advice is don’t go running for all the olive, brown and orange cardigans you’ve been saving all year. Summer is finishing up and wearing your fall clothing in a lighter tone is the way to go. Transitioning is important. Especially in California, where one day it can be 63 degrees and the next feel like you’re a turkey in an oven. So for those cold days that may or may not transition into a heat fest, go for a lighter material as well. Layering is great for when fall is really here, but until then let’s not dress for a blizzard.

This Fashionista sports a perfect fall transitioning outfit. A light grey long sleeve thin sweater. Accompanied with a pair of dark distressed ripped denim jeans and black knee-high, suede zipper high heel boots. It’s great for a morning at the coffee shop or a walk in the park. Skip the boots and you have a great stay home and invite a few friends over outfit. I love how casual and flexible this outfit is. Just add a black clutch and a bit of night-time makeup and you’re ready for date night.

Fall back in love with fall and don’t spill your pumpkin spice latte on your new sweater.
