STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cool Caramel Camel

Pantone’s color of the year has been dubbed “Marsala.” Spring’s fashion color schemes include illuminating yellows, black and white, blue and white mixes, military greens and pure white. However, one hue that stands the test of time, wearable in any season, pairs perfectly with the above color schemes and is famous for making everything look expensive, is the cool refreshing hue of camel. It’s been a fashion “do” for more than a few seasons. The camel coat can be dated back to Vogue for fall 2010 as the must have winter coat. As of recently Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire have articles dedicated solely to finding the hottest camel pieces and how to incorporate them into your everyday wardrobe.

This Fashionista’s ensemble is complete with the neutral tone. One major trend for camel has been to create a seamless monochromatic look with the hue, however adding carbon black or deep denim to provide more depth to the look.

Camel is a color that manages to keep your closet relevant. Not only is the color great for staple pieces, you can also incorporate the hue into your accessories. Opt for a buttery caramel leather handbag, plush infinity scarf, trade out your usual black stiletto for the neutral shade or find a classic camel trench. Camel is such a flexible tone, so when purchasing think of it as an investment to your timeless wardrobe collection. It’s sure to keep your style posh and polished.
