STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A Changing Of The Seasons

It’s no secret that floral patterned pieces are spring staples (cue Meryl Streep’s famous deadpan in The Devil Wears Prada: “Florals, for spring? Groundbreaking”). Fashionistas/os everywhere embrace the season’s blooming and blossoming foliage by wearing it on their clothing. While this may not be so revolutionary, bringing out your spring wardrobe a little early is definitely unconventional. Why wait until the flowers actually bloom to wear them on your outfit? Bring a little sunshine into a gloomy winter day, just like this Fashionista does.

Florals totally work for winter. Not only does this pattern remind us that sometime in the near future the snow will melt and the days will get warmer, but choosing to wear bright colors is an instant mood changer. But, it can be tricky to wear thin, lightweight clothing when the temperature is near zero. This Fashionista shows us just how to adjust your spring go-to pieces for the winter.

Her adorable flowered dress serves as the main focus of her outfit. She plays up its hints of red and pink and stays fashion-forward by donning a sweater in Pantone’s color of the year, marsala. Her bright cherry lipstick and pink dip dyed hair further solidify this look. (Clearly, this Fashionista is into bold, statement colors). Not only does her sweater bring her springy dress back into winter, adding leggings, warm socks and heavy-duty boots accomplishes the same goal. Many Fashionistas tend to save their skirts and dresses for fall, spring and summer. This Fashionista shows that they can be worn year round with some slight adjustments.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Being bright and fun in the slushy, snowy winter is difficult, but when you’re wearing florals and happy colors, it’s much easier to radiate positivity!”
