STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: ’70s-Chic

As the weather starts to get warmer, Fashionistas/os everywhere are starting to shed their winter coats and break out their spring wardrobes. Suddenly the same 60 degree weather that made you pull out your parka last October has you throwing on sandals and a crewneck on your way to class. The recently popular ’70s-inspired trend is the perfect look for this in-between weather as mother nature changes course.

I, for one, could not be happier that this trend is making a comeback. Channel your inner Donna Pinciotti when recreating this trend by grabbing a pair of bootcut jeans, a suede accessory and some fun patterns. This groovy trend is bound to sneak into your wardrobe as spring and summer approach.

Check out this Fashionista’s ’70s-chic look. She’s rocking some classic bootcut denim jeans with a geometric and floral patterned top with hues of burnt orange, navy, rustic red and gold and featuring a button-down slit in the back. She adds a touch of soft suede with a pair of chunky high-heeled booties. And what ’70s-inspired look would be complete without a middle part? Her long natural ombre complements the colors in her top perfectly.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Bootcut and bell bottom jeans are great for making your legs look longer and thinner, especially ones that are high-waisted. If you ever run into pant legs that are too long, throw on a pair of booties that have a comfortable heel before going through the trouble of hemming them. It will save you so much time and dress your look up.”
