STYLE ADVICE: Not Your Mom’s Jeans

My Fashionista likes to keep things comfortable, while looking good of course. As a New York native, she knows exactly what she likes and knows how to make it practical for almost any occasion. She enjoys shopping at vintage and secondhand stores in Brooklyn, and her favorite would probably be L Train Vintage.

Aside from fashion, this Fashionista loves to travel. She went abroad to Malaga, Spain, this winter and found so much more clothing inspiration than even New York could offer. In European countries, it is always better to look good, but you have to feel good too. She embodies that with this look, which she sees as a casual streetwear style. You could catch her wearing this outfit to class, or walking down the cobblestone streets of Spain. Though she loves pulling fashion inspiration from her friends and the people she sees around her, she gets a lot of her fashion inspiration from her mom. Fitting right?

Now let’s talk about her staple piece, a pair of thrifted mom jeans. There is so much buzz right now about this style it is hard to ignore. My Fashionista loves wearing them because they are a comfortable, in style, and can go with almost anything, and because they are thrifted she knows they are a unique piece that won’t be worn by everyone else.

Since these jeans are so popular they are super easy to wear! Here she pairs them with a gray cropped turtle neck, a sherpa fleece jacket, a small brown bag, and a pair of casual brown ankle boots. This Fashionista loves her comfortable style, and I do too. So if you haven’t picked up a pair of these trendy jeans, maybe this will make your decision easier.
