STYLE ADVICE: Flare Jeans

The most recent fashion seasons have revived fringe, brought back suede, and made anything that incorporated a bit of ’70s inspiration a “must-have” for your wardrobe. One item that has gone from trend to staple: flared jeans. They are the perfect way to mix it up from your beloved black skinny jeans and still look just as cool.

This style of jeans is so versatile, they’re able to go from day to night and winter to summer with ease. A darker pair like these from J Brand, can be dressed down with a tucked-in T-shirt and a pair of cool booties like these Steve Madden ones. One of the best parts of flare jeans are their ability to give you the appearance of the longest legs; so the higher the heel the better when it comes to shoes. To take the outfit up a step, add a fun jacket. The simplicity of this look lends itself to so many options, motorcycle style or a funky fringe jacket both look equally perfect and give the outfit two distinct vibes.

Another fun take on these jeans are flared overalls, and a white pair from Frame Denim are perfect as the weather starts to warm up. The color gives them the fresh spring and summer feel and the flared legs keep them very on trend. The best part about these is that they aren’t your average pair of overalls… This pair is a bit form fitting, which gives you a flattering figure and allows them to be dressed up a bit instead of falling into the category of slouchy, casual overalls. You can again take these from day to night by adding a light color tee underneath and a fun pair of sandals. I’m really loving mules lately. For nighttime, swap out your light tee for a black off the shoulder top, add a black choker and strappy black heeled sandals to complete your outfit.

There are so many ways to wear flared jeans. Their uniqueness and versatility make them an item that is here to stay… And hopefully for a while!
