STYLE ADVICE: Classroom to Night Life

February 13th, 2017 at 2:00am

Thursday nights at Ohio State mark the beginning of the weekend.  Before I joined a sorority, my Thursday nights usually consisted of me sitting in my dorm room with my friends, waiting for the appropriate time to Uber downtown to the bars.  However, Greek life changed everything.  Rather than sitting around, I needed to be ready two hours earlier than usual, and found myself rushing to get ready for everything.

A typical Thursday night in Greek life starts at around eight o’clock, when you meet up with all of your friends before heading over to whatever event is planned prior to going downtown for the rest of the night.  If you have a schedule anything like mine, starting my night that early is not ideal.  My Thursday classes start as early as 8 a.m. and end as late as 5:15 p.m. I don’t go home once between those classes, which leaves me barely any time to do work before I get ready for the night.

On the first week of classes, I met someone who had a schedule similar to mine.  I couldn’t help but be inspired by what this Fashionista was wearing.  She wore a comfy, yet chic black dress and layered it under an army green military jacket with simple studding.  Additionally, for her accessories she wore a chunky necklace and topped off her outfit with a simple pair of black suede over-the-knee boots.  Her outfit was simple enough to wear to class, and classy enough to go out in.

If this Fashionista wanted to, she could go straight from the books to her night out, without even having to change.  So if you’re anything like me, or this Fashionista, and are always trying to rush from class to your plans, use this Fashionista’s outfit as a guide to put together your perfect day to night outfit.
