BEAUTY BAR: Boho Braided Babe

I attempted to go to the beach yesterday. I’m a pale-skinned lady, and I can use a bit of color, but going to the beach has always been a chore for me. After stopping for iced coffee, struggling to find a parking spot and then lugging my beach tote, umbrella and chair across the hot sand, I finally threw it all down in a huff near the lifeguard tower. I waved to my best friend sitting in her tower, and attempted to tan while I watched her stare at the empty water. Twenty minutes later when she went on her lunch break, I followed her into air conditioned bliss.

Along the pier, however, I spotted a beach babe who was rocking the humid Florida conditions. Her nude bell sleeved top and high-waisted jean shorts caught my eye, and I loved her triple buckled boots. But it was upon closer inspection of this boho babe that I saw all of the delicate braids in her hair. This Fashionista knew how to rock the beach without braving the beach, something my hot and sweaty mess of a person could learn.

A golden highlight kissed her cheekbones that brought out the honey tones in her hair and made the little bunches of braids stand out. This Fashionista told me she didn’t feel like brushing her hair that day, but adding braids to the look made her get away with it. This reminded me of when I would finish early when taking standardized tests in school, and I would sit and braid my hair in a bunch of braids. This Fashionista’s look is better than my schoolroom braids though.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this look you nee to know how to braid, as well as clear hair elastics. Have fun with it and pick out random places in your hair to add a braid. Finish the look with texturized sea salt spray and go enjoy the summer sun.
