Name: Natalie Spingold

Role: Owner

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe Shoppe Pioneer?

Natalie Spingold: Shoppe Pioneer is a women’s fashion and lifestyle boutique where I buy from all around the world. I try to give it a SoHo New York feel while trying to keep the price point usually under $200.

CF: Who is your typical customer?

NS: My typical customer is usually in my age group, late 20s to late 30s, but we do get a range of high school students all the way up to women in their 60s. My most prominent customer, that shops here most often, I would say is the late 20s to late 30s group. She is either a young professional or a mom.

CF: What do you think is the must-have item in a college student’s closet?

NS: I feel like there’s a few must-haves! I mean I think for sure some layering pieces, like a good pair of jeans and a really great blazer. Especially for a college student, I feel like you need an awesome blazer, not just a plain Jane black one, but a really great cropped or printed blazer that once you start interviewing you can wear. I guess everyone says a black dress so I guess that too!

CF: Are there any trends that you are looking forward to for spring?

NS: I’m really excited about all the new colors. We just bought a line out of France and the colors are great. There are some yellows, peaches, and corals. Also, I love that the trends are staying really on point. I like how wide-leg pants are still in and flares are sticking around. I love that!
