WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

According to the warmer weather and my infinitely busy schedule, summer has arrived. Although for some of us, classes and internships still continue; however, everything feels better in 75 degrees. Summer means we pack up our knit sweaters and skinny jeans to make room for crop tops and high-waisted shorts. Whether you are going to the beach, a music festival or just relaxing, we are all searching for the perfect summer wardrobe. This includes prints galore, bright colors and fun pieces that spice up our typical look.

I spotted this Fashionista inside Verbena, Ann Arbor’s newest boutique. Her style was minimal yet trendy. When I first saw this look, it reminded me of Lauren Conrad. I always try to emulate her style, so when I saw this Fashionista, I knew I had to take her picture. What caught my eye was the printed maxi skirt. Maxi skirts go with everything and can easily be transitioned from one season to the next. The Fashionista wore hers with a white T-shirt to keep the look casual. In addition, she pulled up her hair into a messy bun. I think her hair choice was cute and perfect for a summer day. She also wore a simple pair of braided sandals, which is a necessity in any girl’s closet.

One Simple Change: This look is perfect for a summer day; however, to transition into nighttime, I would change the casual T-shirt for a silk tank top. This would dress up the look incredibly. Also, I would throw on a leather jacket for warmth. Overall, it would change the mood of the outfit. Wearing black definitely adds more edge to this minimal look.
