STYLE GURU BIO: Asia Milia Ware

Fashionistas and Fashionistos, I am Asia Ware, and I am excited to introduce myself as a first time Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am a Strategic Communications major and English minor at Hampton University where I will be a junior in the fall. Although I am Hampton made, I am a New York raised girl who loves to roam the concrete jungle. Growing up in New York, style was always of importance to me and after visiting Paris and London in 2013, I was head over heels for fashion. Being from a major fashion capital, and visiting the other fashion capitals leaves me no choice but to be a Fashionista. I love dressing my curves, and I adore the outlet of expression that fashion is to people of all ages.

As a Fashionsita and a writer, I aspire to be a fashion editor of a magazine, and I have a long-term goal of having my own fashion public relations firm. This internship is the ultimate stepping-stone and experience to help me embark on my dreams of working in the fashion industry, and I am beyond excited to start. This summer, in addition to writing for CollegeFashionista, I am interning in the fashion showroom for ADEAM and I am working as an associate for Banana Republic.

I am blessed to be interning and working for such great fashion names this summer. Last summer, I was a sales associate at New York & Company. For a first time retail job it was great and I learned tons of information about the retail industry and fashion in general. Although I had great days there, I am excited to be exposed to the fashion industry more this summer through CollegeFashionista, ADEAM and Banana Republic.

My favorite store is H&M; they are found on every block in New York City, similar to Starbucks. H&M has been my go-to store since I was in high school. While my classmates wore sweats and UGGs, I wore blazers and riding boots, I always dressed for where I wanted to be, not where I currently am.

My style varies a lot, but I love to stay chic, I don’t dress casually too often. If I am not dressed up, then I am in athleisure because I also love fitness. I am in love with blazers like the one in this photo. Unfortunately, since it’s time for the summer heat in New York, my blazers are put away. My summer style consists of lots of wedges and either shirt dresses or bodycon ones. I buy most of my dresses from ASOS and Boohoo. Pants are my enemy; I like skirts and dresses, however, a nice pair of white jeans is essential for the summer. I always make sure to accessorize my outfits; my favorite accessory is my Michael Kors cuff because it is so simple, yet adds a touch of class layered on top of my watch.

Stay tuned to read my articles every Tuesday, expect trendy, classy, and most of all, stylish looks from the city of dreams this summer!
