WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

Winter in Minnesota is back in full swing. We were teased for a few days with 30 degree temperatures (trust me, that’s considered warm for us!) Now, it’s back to being in the single digits. So no wonder all the campus Fashionistas are bundling up in their Columbia and The North Face jackets and SOREL boots.

Also, did you hear that Minnesota is trying to break off from the rest of the Midwest and position itself as the North? A lot of people think that Minnesota gets lost among all the other states, but we are different in so many ways.

This Fashionista is ready to fight the cold in style. Check out her oversized Highlands Coat. It lets you layer up underneath, and the leather and metal stud pattern on both sides of the zipper remind me of a traditional ornament. Leather and faux fur are the two essentials of the Minnesota winter. And, of course, there are pockets and a hood.

Her fringe tote adds to the charm and the overall boho feel to the look, while the brown boots perfectly match the shade of the leather accents of the coat. However, my personal favorite is the necklace. Natural stones and crystals are so in this season, and I am secretly hoping they never go out of style.

One Simple Change: This look is also a perfect weekend wear outfit; just swap the floppy hat for a beanie of your choice, and you are ready to run errands or meet with friends for brunch and coffee.
