STYLE GURU STYLE: Lacey Days

It’s never too early to start your bucket list; for all my fashion lovers, attending fashion week should be in your top five! The top spot on your list should be reserved for an out of this world, unique experience. Attending Paris Fashion Week is the number one item on my list. One day I will sit front row at a Paris show and witness the art waltz down the runway. Some of the most innovative and eclectic designs come from this fashion haven. It would be a true honor to witness it up close, but for now I’ll have to settle for my computer.

One of Paris’ amazing designers, Zuhair Murad, had a beautiful spring 2016 couture collection. I have a feeling he kept me in mind when he was designing his collection. It consisted of lace, sheer and embroidered pieces. All of the items in the collection also featured floral detailing to reign in the spring season. Lace is one of my favorite patterns to wear. It’s vintage and classy all at the same time and you can dress it up or down. The print also adds a unique element to your outfit which makes it standout. It seems Zuhair Murad shares my love for lace. It was difficult for me to pick my favorite look because they were all so beautiful, but I managed to narrow it down to three looks: one, five and seven.

I channeled those runway looks by using a black floral lace tank top I got from Banana Republic. The floral embroidery of my top matched many of the looks in the collection. It also put a different spin on the looks because it’s black instead of the usual spring colors. I paired the top with burgundy pants, a black braided belt and black platform sandals. For accessories I used a tan bucket bag with a fringe tassel, a gold watch and topped it off with cat eye tortoise print glasses. I loved the accessories I added to this outfit because they add a modern yet vintage feel to the outfit which brings out my personality. My outfit was a nice homage to the spring/summer season. I know people try to avoid wearing black in the summer time, but I think the sleeveless and lace aspect of the shirt made it translate very well.

Zuhair Murad did an amazing job of channeling spring in his collection. By using white and powdered colors coupled with floral and lace detailing, he transported his audience to a peaceful garden filled with beautiful flowers.
