STYLE GURU BIO: Kayla Hill

Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Kayla Hill and I’m so excited to be back for my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista. As I’m writing this post it is now three days before Christmas (insert present emoji here).

Currently I am studying fashion marketing at the Art Institute of Seattle. Most of my time is spent going to school, working, having a social life and stalking fashion magazine editors on Instagram, Snapchat etc.… and not necessarily in that order. Since starting school I’ve learned that I have a real interest in print or digital magazines and styling. Doing this internship, I’m really motivated to pursue my dreams in this industry to the fullest. I can’t wait to see what the Fashionistas/os will bring out during this cold, wet winter in Seattle.

Now on to my outfit. This was one of those typical wet and cold days in Seattle. Luckily we caught a break in the rain and my sister and I were able to get some pics in! The sun even came out; it was a Sunday “bless up”. I’m just going to confess right now that I’ve had this jacket for two plus years, and this past fall is the most I have worn it (smh); it also comes with a detachable fur collar. I decided to let the coat and hat be the main focus for this outfit by choosing the basic colors black and white for my top and bottom. The bottoms are thick leggings which have a cool mesh fabric at the ankles. I paired them with my black quilted slip-ons. The hat makes the outfit for me. It reminds me of those beanies with actual cat and rabbit ear shapes. Last but not least my purse which was a gift from my sister on her visit to Sweden at a store called Monki, I can’t get enough of it!

Thanks for stopping by—can’t wait to see what this RAD semester will bring!
