WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

April showers bring may flowers? More like April showers bring dull raincoats. As rain pelted down on our campus and students sprinted from one building to the next covered in dark raincoats, boots and umbrellas, this Fashionisto was one of the only people I saw who didn’t let the weather put a damper on his style.

As internship season fast approaches, this Fashionisto is ready. His outfit is appropriate and stylish. His striped button-down shirt shows that he’s professional but fun and isn’t afraid to experiment with various colors and patterns. His khaki pants balance the look out, keeping in simple on the bottom since he’s wearing a pattern up top. His bold, brown shoes complete the look.

He looks super comfortable and relaxed in this look with his top button undone and shirt untucked. He explained that he loves the layered look and believes that layering really enhances style. His personal style overall tends to be preppy, so here he’s taking his own style and creating a more professional look. If your internship office is a more formal environment, this look can be made more formal by simply tucking in the shirt and adding a blazer. This Fashionisto also noted that though this outfit is nice enough for interning, it’s also casual enough to wear elsewhere like to class or just a weekend around campus.

One Simple Change: After a long day of interning, it’s time to meet your friends for some drinks. Simple swap the pants for a pair of jeans to create a look that’s just as relaxed but a bit more casual.
