WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

What to Wear

Besides being Fashionistas and star pupils a lot of us work during the school year as well. Being on someones payroll is never a reason to feel like you can’t display your keen fashion sense in the office. Wearing something comfortable, stylish and that you can wear all day has often been an issue many Fashionistas struggle with.  As much as we would like to double the size of our wardrobe sometimes our party clothes and our work clothes aren’t meant to be one and them same. (Yes, even if you put a blazer over it.)

I have the perfect example of how to be camera ready and on top of your game! This Fashionista demonstrates the perfect outfit for work. She kept it simple, chic and cute! Between class and her on campus job she’s doing a lot of walking so flats are a busy girl’s best friend. Comfortable flats are definitely a worthwhile investment, and not all shoes you wear to work have to be plain, look at the cute feminine detail on her flats! Urban Outfitters always has great options for cute flats for work. I also love how her flower earrings compliment the buttons in the shirt so effortlessly. Earrings are my personal favorite way to adding my own spin on my professional wear. Check out these earrings by PeaceImages, they’re a personal favorite company of mine. Charlotte Russe and Forever 21 always have lots of variety when it comes to earrings for a college girl’s budget.

Next let’s address these amazing trouser pants, these are such a more stylish alternative to khakis! The belt really helps make it look polished and professional. The Gap has a great pair similar to this and it even comes in color!

Lastly, I love that she scrunched up her sleeves on the button down it adds a fun flair to the overall look. You can find button downs at Old Navy, American Eagle and Gap. If you don’t particularly like the cut of the shirts in the women’s section don’t be afraid to pick one in the men’s section in their smaller sizes.

One Simple Change: The only thing I would change about this outfit is I’d add a sweater or blazer. It’s colder now and a shell can take an outfit from business casual to business professional! A lot of places will be transitioning to spring wear soon so sweaters and blazer will be on sale! Try H&M, Target, Express and Old Navy for blazers and cute cardigans.
