Graduation is only days away for the select few that have made it through four years of all-nighters, thesis papers and the general stress that comes along with being a full-time college student. For those of you that aren’t graduating you may very well find yourself attending your friend’s or sibling’s graduation ceremonies soon, and quickly realizing you don’t know what’s appropriate to wear. Not to worry because today’s Fashionista is here to save the day.
The first tip to take away from this Fashionista’s lovely ensemble is modesty. Like a bride on her wedding day, you don’t up show the college graduate. It’s their special day so try to keep things toned down with a neutral colored cardigan or reserved Peter Pan collared dress. Forever 21 has a great selection to choose from such as their pale pink embroidered chiffon dress, or if you prefer a little more pattern in your life, try their sleeveless dove print dress.
The second tip to take away from this Fashionista is her smart use of accessories. No noisy bangles or flashy statement necklaces, just simple black tights (because you know they always have the A.C. blasting in those ceremony halls) and fashionable sunglasses, something that every Fashionista should have in her life. What I love most about tights is that there are so many varieties in colors and patterns out there that you can literally transform an outfit with them. For example, to have made this outfit a little funkier this Fashionista could have switched out her black tights for American Apparel’s sheer bow shape patterned pantyhose; still maintaining modesty with just a little more spunk.
The final tip to take away from this delightful young lady is that an outfit is never complete without a smile. Be happy! The semester is almost over and graduation will be here soon enough for us all.
One Simple Change: We should all know by now that a simple shoe change can literally transform an outfit. This rule still rings true with today’s Fashionista’s ensemble. By keeping all of the outfits elements the same and simply switching out the ballet flats for a vibrantly color blocked strappy sandals this outfit just went from formal event chic to a night on the town.
