WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

This year our brutal Midwest winter has dragged on far beyond its welcome. Seriously, who wants snow after New Years? As the temperatures continue to tease us with their minimal highs and great lows, we’re all struggling to stay warm. Unfortunately, for most that means piling on your favorite sweatshirt, a down coat and snow boots. The winter blues are tough. It’s easy to ditch your chic look and get stuck in routine sweats when the temperatures reach below freezing. After all the UGGs and North Face coats I’ve seen on campus recently, it was a breath of fresh air to spot this Fashionista.

This Fashionista is sporting the perfect winter essentials to stay warm and sharp. I adore her military style parka with the faux leather sleeve details. Leather will always be a classic when it comes to fashion. I have been loving all the pleather available on the market right now, especially in fashion totes and leggings! Pleather is effortless to dress up and looks great with many styles. She pulls her outfit together with matching black accessories. Scarves and beanies are a must have with these brisk winter winds. Winter accessories are also a great way to spice up a plain outfit. This Fashionista’s chunky black infinity scarf is perfect for those chilly days to hold in warmth. Her timeless black knee-high boots are this season’s necessity. I’ve been on the hunt for them and have failed to find a college budget friendly pair! If you have 600 dollars to blow, Stuart Weitzman makes a great pair.

One Simple Change: Pair a chunky cable knit sweater under your parka for those negative temperatures! You’ll be sure to stay warm on that walk home from class.
