We’re all back in A2, and it almost feels like we never left. Welcome week festivities, football games and parties have filled our schedules as of late, but they can make it difficult to remember our main purpose of being here (hint: it’s learning). You don’t need to love school so much that you count down the minutes until you breach the entrance of any academic building, but going to class is essential for, well, getting a degree. However, it doesn’t need to be as traumatizing as you think.
Dressing for the occasion is one of the easiest ways to soothe the pain of going to class. This doesn’t mean whipping out the dress you wore to your Bat Mitzvah, but rather honing in on your personal style (if your style consists of only Bat Mitzvah dresses, that’s wonderful). This Fashionista mixes laid-back pieces to create a unique and comfortable look for class. While the chambray epidemic has taken over many wardrobes for the past couple of seasons, she shifts her denim focus over to vests. This also serves as a great transition piece for fall, providing many options for the beloved autumn activity of layering.
Another functional transition piece are her brown studded combat boots. While paired with her printed skirt, she shows off how to flawlessly mix masculine and feminine pieces. She finishes off the look with a printed wrap headband and some colorful beaded bracelets. Donning a couple of interesting accessories is a sure-fire way to take your outfit up a notch and hopefully enough to encourage you to go to class and show them off.
One Simple Change: For the inevitably chilly fall break, she could switch her denim vest for a fringe sweater. It adds more texture and still provides an aesthetically interesting contrast between her skirt.
