WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

One of the biggest drags about wintertime is that you cannot enjoy all the fabulous outdoor activities that coincide with warm weather. Given that the weather this weekend was amazing, the winter blues disappeared and I could finally do all my favorite things again.  For me, this means spending Saturday afternoons brunching away on eggs benedict and apple cinnamon french toast out on a patio at my favorite brunch spot. Unlike regular, old breakfast, brunch is an excuse to dress up in your new outfit that you’ve been saving for that special occasion.  Well Fashionistas/os, that occasion is finally here.  After months of being stuck inside wearing sweats and baggy T-shirt, spring is starting to bloom. A new season should always be rung in by sprucing up your wardrobe.

That is exactly what this Fashionista has done. It’s 60 degrees and sunny outside which means that it is time to pull out that skirt that has been calling your name all winter.  For this occasion, this Fashionista went with a corduroy, button-up mini skirt in camel tucked in to a long sleeved black top that takes the basic T-shirt to a new level with the lace-up detailing.  The best thing about the combination is that the unique qualities of both pieces make accessories virtually unnecessary.  Although the right accessories can be a definite must in some circumstances, sometimes, simplicity is best.  To top off the entire look, this Fashionista threw on a pair of now seasonally-appropriate Ray-Ban Clubmasters and some adorable black booties.  Her pin straight, blonde locks finish off this ’60s mod-inspired combination.  She’s now all ready to get her brunch on.

One Simple Change: For those times when brunch turns into a night on the town, turning this look from day to night will be a breeze.  Throw on some simple, black strappy heels and apply a smokey eye to those lids and you’ll be ready to go.
