Just because the calendar orders that it is now March doesn’t mean the frigid temperatures are disappearing just yet. A few unpleasant storms have already slammed the east coast, and I wouldn’t be surprised if more ensue. Strong winds and a fifteen-minute walk to campus does not make a good mix, either. This week, I spotted Nicole trekking to class on a particularly nippy Tuesday morning.
Nicole’s winter coat was a satin, black puffer from Moncler. The satin finish adds a little interest to its neutral color. You can find the exact one here, or try this similar version, which comes in different colors and is a more reasonable price. For an edgy twist, try this Helmut Lang asymmetrical hooded puffer. Nicole also bundled up with a knit scarf from Zara, and a turband and gloves from Free People. I always find beanies and hats too suffocating, so a turband is a perfect alternative that will warm your ears and still look stylish. This gray knit one from Eugenia Kim is neutral enough to go with any colored coat. For something with a little more detail, try this Gold Saturn black turband with gold studs. American Apparel has tons of options when it comes to fingerless gloves that are perfect for texting. You could also try a pop top pair by Kate Spade for a more youthful look. Finally, keep your neck warm with a thick, knit scarf such as this cream colored UGG scarf.
If you’re on your way to class you’ll probably need a big tote to carry your books and laptop in. Nicole’s bag is by Pour la Victoire and the perfect size for class. Try a black and white leather shopper tote from Zara. Lastly, go with a classic pair of knee-high black Stuart Weitzman boots for a chic and warm look.
Dressing for winter can be difficult but with a few key accessories and a great winter coat you’ll be set for the whole season.
One Simple Change: If turbands aren’t your thing, try something else to warm your head. A big pair of fox fur earmuffs look super stylish and keep your ears warm, too.
