STYLE GURU STYLE: Stripes or Stripes

Every time I go on Style.com I find myself getting lost within each collection going deeper and deeper into the runway trends, both current and from a few seasons back. Recently I have been drawn to the alice + olivia line and became indulged in the fall 2014 ready-to-wear line. Each piece is bigger and bolder than the next, and not to mention the whimsical, fairy-like quality each look has. The collection is full of my favorite things: fur, chiffon and patterns. This collection is for a girl who is not afraid of a little attention and ready to take a chance. Each ensemble is accessorized to perfection and the looks build on each other throughout the runway sequence.

Although I wish I could wear all of these pieces to class, it may be a little much for a daytime school look… but have no fear! I was drawn to Look 23 right off the bat, a bold red rose skirt paired with an oversized black and cream sweater. To finish the look off, it was paired with the furriest of fur coats decorated with black and white stripes. When I first saw this outfit I knew I had to incorporate stripes and red into an everyday look that was suitable for school. I decided on a black and white striped oversized sweater from Zara with my regular blue jeans. I paired that with my new wedge booties from Clarks, which top off any outfit. And for the pop of red I added a simple lightweight scarf with a little texture. I added fluffy black earmuffs, for a hint of fur and a classic black peacoat for warmth. I was also on my way to a photo shoot and had my brand new ONA bag with me; a little leather can only add to a look!

Get My Look: 1. An oversized striped sweater. 2. A red scarf. 3. Leather Bowery bag from ONAbags.
