STYLE GURU STYLE: Shades of Winter

Boyfriend jeans, long, lined blazers and turtlenecks: all cozy necessities that made their way into my wardrobe this winter. This look encompasses oversized layers, occasion versatility and muted shades of winter.

While, this is no couture gown, I drew inspiration from the Elie Saab spring 2016 Couture show. I was inspired by the mystical color palette, which featured grays, creams, whites, blues and silvers. The color palette can be sported in winter and also carried over to the spring months. These colors are sophisticated and can be transitioned into an edgy or romantic vibe, depending on the look you are going for. The contrast between the crisp white and the blue gray tones is a recipe for success, effortlessly.

My outfit screams casual and comfortable while being extremely transformable for different occasions. The pairing of the long line blazer with the sneakers make for an unexpected and edgy twist on the classic wardrobe essentials. Sneakers are majorly trending right now. I finished the look off with this tote, perfect to throw your laptop, a few books and your makeup bag for the day in. This outfit is chic and stylish while being comfortable, lining right up with the athleisure trend. Perfect for running errands, meeting up with a friend for lunch or going shopping, all while being fashionable. The masculinity of the white, destructed, boyfriend denim complements the feminine touches of gold and fragile accessories. This look can easily be made into a more dressed up look by adding a pair of pointed toed pumps. Pointed toe pumps are a seamless match with boyfriend fit denim and a chic way to dress them up.
