STYLE GURU STYLE: Hippie Dippie Boho

The Chloé spring 2015 ready-to-wear runway show featured a lot of hippie bohemian elements, but they were styled in a way that made them look super chic and fabulous. What better time to try this kind of look than the beginning of summer? A few of the looks of this particular show featured the staple color white so I decided to translate that along with the same easy-going feel that the collection encompassed.

All white can be a tricky thing to do because you want to make sure it’s not see through and it’s nerve racking to try to keep clean throughout the day. However, if it’s done right, it can look elegant and glamorous. I paired my white shorts with a simple white T-shirt which can feel like too much at first, but when you add on the accessories and the right poncho or cardigan, then it all comes together.

Adding a poncho or a flowing cardigan will definitely give your look a hippie feel to it, especially one like mine with kimono sleeves, stripes and a fringed hem. The earthy tones in the cardigan helped to off-set the white while still complementing it. Although the runway show didn’t specifically use cardigans, it still captures one of the big aspects of the collection which was loose, moveable clothing.

This Chloé collection also featured a lot of gladiator sandals. If you have some, then they are definitely a great way to pull this look together. Since I don’t have any, I went with white flip-flops. The runway show used very minimal accessories, but I decided to glam it up a little bit by adding gold jewelry, a sparkly belt and sunglasses.

Get My Look: 1. A plain white T-shirt. 2. White shorts. 3. A flowing cardigan.
