STYLE GURU STYLE: Checkmate

J.Crew has had a rough couple of months, but in my opinion, I feel like they’re finally back on their feet with their latest runway show. The fall 2016 ready-to-wear show was a perfect mix of everything I love. Fun lace up flats, fluffy coats and my favorite, tons of bandanas and neck ties. It’s hard to pick one outfit to be deemed my favorite, but I think this one with tons of layers and textures is my favorite. I love the contrast between the gingham, sequins and bandana print; so fun right? This particular outfit was a major inspiration to the outfit I styled for today’s STYLE GURU STYLE post.

This casual look includes some key features from the runway show. I love wearing a simple outfit like this and amping it up with tons of little details. For example, I stacked tons of dainty rings and a fun Loren Hope bracelet for some bling. As for my bandana, I tied it around my neck to emulate the bandana print in my favorite outfit from the show but also because tons of the models had printed silk ones on. I’ve fallen in love with the very popular trend of lace-up pointed flats. I was so excited to see that J.Crew has incorporated some of its own into the line! As for the rest of my outfit, I just paired my Madewell flannel with some jeans, my beloved black Ray-Ban aviators and a simple black satchel.

Get My Look: 1. Checkered flannel. 2. Lace-up flats. 3. Ray-Ban Sunglasses.
