STYLE GURU BIO: Sharilynn Brown

As my fourth semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru begins, I can confidently say that writing about myself never gets easier. It’s hard to believe that I’m already writing my fourth STYLE GURU BIO, but it’s even harder to believe that my personal style has evolved in ways I never thought possible since I began with CollegeFashionista. I attribute the majority of this evolution to the unique styles and ideas of the Fashionistas/os and runway looks that I’ve featured in my posts during the past three semesters. I can’t wait to draw more fashion inspiration from the individuals that I’ll have the pleasure of meeting and featuring in posts this semester.

I’m not confident that there is one specific way to classify my style. Sometimes my outfits will clearly fall into the preppy category, while other times they have more of a grunge feel to them. Depending on the day, you can find me rocking my (faux) fur jacket, a beanie, some oxfords, a metallic dress or some knee-high socks. Sometimes, you might even find me taking a little bit of a risk and piecing them all together into a relatively nontraditional outfit like this one. For this reason, I would simply describe my style as eclectic.

This semester, I’ll be writing everything from AROUND TOWN to STYLE GURU STYLE posts with a little comic relief thrown in here and there. Be sure to check in each Monday this semester to learn some tips and tricks, grab some inspiration from the Fashionistas/os that I feature and watch my personal style develop even further. I look forward to spending the upcoming semester inspiring your wardrobes as much as you all inspire mine.
