STYLE GURU BIO: PreAndra Allen

Ciao friends! My name is PreAndra Taylor, and I am currently a junior at Kent State University. I am majoring in fashion merchandising with a minor in entrepreneurship. I grew up in California and am just now transferring on over to the East Coast and experiencing what a true winter is supposed to feel like. Welcome to my rough road. I promise we’ll get there, but I can’t tell you when or how fast.

I’ve always had a passion for fashion, but it wasn’t until recently when I began to divulge the tricks of the trade. This tube dress is a woman’s go-to. Not only is Burgundy a go-to fall color, but it is also the form fitting ensemble that is perfect for a night out. No outfit truly screams PreAndra until some black is thrown into the mix. There is no better way to accomplish this than with a leather jacket! I am a native Californian, therefore, cold is not my forte. I can promise you’ll get to witness how I inevitably must bare the snow. I’ve paired stockings into the mix for extra warmth on this less than 70 degree night with a pair of Steve Madden oxfords for a stylish yet comfortable finish. Once you throw on a fabulous shade of lipstick (a must), you’re good to go!

If you were to ask me what my personal style was, I cannot say I would have a definite answer. Well, what is fashion? It’s difficult to encompass such a word in so little time. I’ll tell you what comes to my head, self-expression. Fashion is a journey, and as with any road trip, there’s no guarantee of comfort. What I can tell you about my style is that it’s changing. One day I can channel grunge and the next morning will be simple and chic, but I’ve never seen the problem with that. Fashion has no boundaries, questions or limitations. We can express exactly what we wish to. However, with ever journey of self-expression, one must keep their always shrinking pocket book in mind. We shop on a budget, people, so never break the bank! Most importantly, be exactly who you want to be every time you walk out the door.
