STYLE GURU BIO: Mikayla Gamble

Hey guys! My name is Mikayla Gamble and I’m currently a digital media production major with an emphasis in film at Florida State University. Growing up a military brat has allowed me to travel the world and experience so many different aspects of life and culture. Soon after realizing my love for observing new things, I became even more infatuated with capturing these memories and storytelling through outlets such as fashion, film and photography. I’ve never really considered myself to be an amazing writer, but when I found CollegeFashionista, I knew I needed to take this opportunity to better my skills and share my love for style and its positive impacts.

Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” I like to describe myself as extremely adventurous, forever curious and crazy passionate and being able to show that through clothes excites me. A wardrobe is a girl’s best friend and I’m a firm believer in versatility. I could tell you that my style ranges from sporty-chic to elegant and sleek to rugged rocker or something but there’s no real method to my madness. I wear what I like and experiment with colors or prints that fascinate me, which is the great thing about individuality: you can express yourself however you want.

In this outfit, I chose to go the simple route with my favorite oversized sweater from F&F, thrown over a white button-up and classic black skinny jeans from H&M. To finish off my look I added my new black Presley booties from Public Desire. You can never really go wrong being a minimalist.

As a die hard fashion fan of Rihanna and Kendall Jenner, one of my main goals for the spring semester is to reach out to the girls who might be afraid to be bold or wear what their heart desires with prowess and give them that extra push to just be themselves.
