STYLE GURU BIO: McKenna Munden

Well hello fashion enthusiasts. I am so excited that you clicked on my picture and are interested in learning a little more about me. My name is McKenna, I am in my second year here at the University of Montana, and am currently pursuing a degree in digital marketing. I know, I know, it sounds pretty generic, but let me give you some more specific details about myself.

I am a freelance photographer, blogger, and trumpet player. I actually began and completed an entire year of college as a trumpet performance major (something I had dreamed of doing ever since my sophomore year in high school). Music meant (and still means) so much to me and I felt majoring in it was the perfect opportunity for me to continue further in it. Yet, as I progressed in the major, I became extremely stressed and my joy for music took a hit. It was then that I realized that I couldn’t stand for that and a change was definitely needed. I decided that I did not need the performance major to do what I wanted to do in music and trumpet, and so I switched to digital marketing to help my photography and blogging passions. I promised myself that I would still stay deeply involved in music and the music program, and I have. Even so, switching from something I had planned on for so long was scary and took a lot of courage, but I am so excited to see where my future takes me.

My fashion on the other hand, has never been scared to change. I always love trying new trends and taking risks in my outfits. Sometimes these risks work out and other times they crash and burn, but hey, that is all part of growing and finding my very own style and aesthetic. I tend to stick to blacks, whites, and shades of grey with the occasional pieces of color, but that is just what works best for me.

Hello 2017. Let’s do this.
