STYLE GURU BIO: Kristin Vartan

Hello from across the pond, fellow Fashionistas/os! I am Kristin Vartan, a Pepperdine University student studying abroad in London, England. In addition to being a Style Guru, I am an editorial intern for CollegeFashionista and a style blogger. This past semester, I’ve been blogging my way through Europe in places like England, Greece and Prague just to name a few. Along the way I have gathered many memories, eaten lots of food and obtained a bounty of style inspiration. My travels have further “Europeanized” my wardrobe (if that is even possible) as well as prompted me to chop off my hair!

Whether I’m on a humanities field trip at the British Museum or studying at a trendy coffee shop, you can probably find me wearing a ton of black with some statement pieces. For some strange reason, I have accumulated many turtlenecks over the fall season and have been in love with this black one from Zara. It may seem like a plain old turtleneck, but the gold button detailing and slit of the sleeves add some edgy flair. With it I have on a brown fur vest that is bordered with black leather. The leather on the vest goes well with the pencil leather skirt that I have on. The leather dominated look can be worn in the day or night time; this is perfect as I am on the go all the time and changing before a night outing is rarely an option. For the cold London weather, I put on a pair of black tights and ankle boots. A berry lip is the last necessary accessory to pull everything together. Every outfit needs a pop of color!

It is such a blessing to be able to return to London this coming semester with a bigger involvement in the CollegeFashionista community. The fashion culture in London is as rich as its history. Expect to see tons of cutting edge fashion coming your way from the UK right here on CollegeFashionista!
