STYLE GURU BIO: Kelsey George

Hey everybody, I’m Kelsey. I’m a public relations student at a small university on the West side of Michigan, pretty close to the larger city of Grand Rapids. On the weekends I love taking trips to the city for their amazing sushi and fashion inspirations.

When I got to college last year I was afraid that attending a small school would have a negative impact on my own style; that I would be afraid to truly express my love for high fashion. Through my adventures at school I have discovered that being on my campus just means I pay more attention to detail. I have grown to appreciate the smaller elements of fashion that I would normally overlook in a larger setting, and I’ve only grown more comfortable with expressing my personal style.

Fashion has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I would spend hours flipping through Vogue and Glamour building my dream wardrobe and creating inspiration boards to hang up in my room. I personally believe that there is no better method of self-expression than through your own style.

I chose to represent my style by pairing a neutral cream sweater by Forever 21 and some dark wash LC by Lauren Conrad skinny jeans. It was an usually warm day for December, so I stayed comfortable while bringing the runway to my campus with a faux fur vest. Lastly, I topped off the look with my favorite brown leather booties and a gold watch. These boots are incredibly versatile; I’ve paired them with anything from jeans and a slouchy cardigan to patterned tights and a dress.

During my time interning with CollegeFashionista, I plan to bring my love of fashion to my little college campus while hopefully providing inspiration to my peers and my readers. I’m excited to share my own personal style with you all as well as my passion for writing.
