Hello to all the fashion enthusiast out there! My name is Kamila Jambulatova and I can’t even express how excited I am to start my second semester with CollegeFashionista. Last semester went by so fast as I ran around campus in a search of stylish outfits. From constantly checking out boys on campus to figuring out a difference between a button-up and a button-down, I learned so much while writing for LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS. This summer I will continue to learn while writing for a new exciting category: AROUND TOWN.
I was always a little jealous of people who figured out their passions very early in life. I wanted to be one of the lucky people, who would spend days and nights working on something they love. Don’t get me wrong, I had passions; I loved writing as well as acting, theatre and many other things, but I didn’t feel like those passions were as consuming and intense as I would want them to be. I was seeking that drive, that would push me to put those 10,000 hours that I needed to succeed. Then one day a good friend of mine told me that I already have a passion, and that passion is beauty! When she told me that, it hit me: I love beautiful clothes, beautifully written books, photographs, movies, etc. I can actually combine all my main passions like writing, fashion and photography to create this intense drive that I want. Since that epiphany, I’ve been discovering more and more things that I want to pursue and I keep rediscovering myself every day. I am also finally putting my energy into things I love, like writing about fashion for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be happier.
The outfit I am wearing is a little different from what I usually wear, but that’s what I like about it. I really want to keep going out of my comfort zone and trying new things. White J.Crew shorts are preppier than what I usually go for, but I love them combined with a striped cropped shirt, white crochet TOMS and a white leather bag. I wore it with a turquoise necklace and burgundy sunglasses to add some color to the outfit.
Fashion is about beauty, creativity and expressing yourself. I am thrilled to be a part of CollegeFashionista community and being to connect with people with similar passions. Make sure to come back every Wednesday to check out my AROUND TOWN articles!
